Der Thunfisch von Santa Catarina aus den Azoren ist ein Premium-Produkt, das sich durch seine nachhaltige Produktion auszeichnet.
Nach dem Motto "Ein Mann, eine Rute, ein Thunfisch!" wird der Fisch traditionell mit der Angel gefangen, was die Konserven absolut "dolphin safe" macht.
Santa Catarina war die erste Thunfischfischerei weltweit, die von Greenpeace ausgezeichnet wurde und die Siegel "Dolphin Safe" und "Friend of the Sea" erhielt.
Alle Zutaten stammen aus lokalem Fang und Anbau, werden von Hand verarbeitet ohne künstliche Zusatzstoffe. Die Konsistenz ist zart aber fest, der Geschmack fein fischig ohne aufdringlich zu sein - ein deutlicher Unterschied zu herkömmlichen Thunfischkonserven.
Erhältlich ist der Thunfisch in verschiedenen Varianten mit Olivenöl und Gewürzen wie Basilikum, Curry oder azorischer Paprika.
