In this preserve, the tender sardine (vintage 2017/2018) meets fresh ginger - an elegant mixture and a real treat! The whole ginger slice gives off a nice, distinct, slightly zesty, floral aroma, but without overpowering the sardine. Since these are vintage sardines that only get better with time, it's certainly worth setting aside a can (or more?) to let the flavors penetrate the fish even more.

A real treat on its own with a piece of good bread - the oil should also be dipped in and eaten!

The Conserverie Artisanale "La Quiberonnaise" was founded in 1921 and is still family-owned today. It is one of the last traditionally working conserveries in France. Methods and recipes are still used here, some of which date back to the 1920s, and all fish are always freshly prepared. La Quiberonnaise makes many vintage sardines in small batches and collaborates with local artists for the can design.
