When the Conserverie La Pointe de Penmarc'h was founded, the port of Douarnenez had a fleet of more than a hundred fishing boats that brought their bountiful catch to the port's fish auction hall every day. At that time the boats were still operated with sails - today they are all equipped with the latest technology. Nevertheless, the fishermen of the area continue to practice a selective and careful fishing that does not damage the stocks.
Respect for traditions is important not only for sentimental reasons. Above all, it is also about preserving the living space for everyone. To ensure this, fishermen and Conserverie work hand in hand.
